Downtown Washington, PA is your hub for all things whiskey and history July 8th and 9th. The Whiskey Rebellion Festival will be taking Main Street with music, food, vendors, performances, tours, and much more! Make your way down for Friday evening festivities, and rest up for an entire day’s worth of events on Saturday. Below is your guide to enjoying the event at its fullest!
Kick Off with the Whiskey and Spirits Walk
Join the herd of whiskey enthusiasts and walk to all of your favorite businesses while sampling spirits. Explore tastes from favorited locations along the Trail such as Quantum Spirits, the Bradford House and Museum, and more! Registration is $50 per person, and includes samplings plus a tasting glass. You can do so at the lower pavilion on Friday at 5:30 p.m. Then gather at the lower block of Main Street, from the pavilion to Maiden Street, to begin the walk.
Festival Opening Ceremony
Gather at the Pavilion Stage by 7 p.m. and kick-off all things whiskey with the Whiskey Rebellion Festival Opening Ceremony! Dominique Theodore will be singing the National Anthem followed by a performance by the Washington Symphany Orchestra at 8 p.m.
Be sure to rest up Friday night for a full day’s worth of events on Saturday, beginning with the parade gunning off at 10:30 a.m.
Explore Whiskey Rebellion History and Heritage
Take a trip back in time by perusing through history and heritage displays in the Uram Lot, reenactments and demonstrations in the Le Moyne Gardens, and the Lil Rebel Area in the Bradford House Gardens from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Courthouse Tours will be available at the top of every hour from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., and a History and Landmark Architectural Tour will be taking off at 1 p.m. in front of the Le Moyne House.
Be sure to stop by the Bradford House Museum, one of many stops along the Whiskey Rebellion Trail. Visit the Whiskey Rebellion Education and Visitors Center for more information on this historic event and the timeless tradition of whiskey!
Enjoy Great Food and Music
Enjoy exciting street performances happening at every hour on Main Street Saturday, featuring main act, Tar and Feathering, taking the stage at 5 p.m. Main Stage Music shows will be taking place various times from 12:30 p.m. through the evening, featuring main act, Jakob Ferry Stragglers.
